FAQ
What are the steps required for when I lose all of my keys?
A locksmith can generate keys for the vehicle. A locksmith will require either the title or registration for the vehicle and your drivers license. Texas state law requires that locksmiths make keys for the owner of the vehicle.
House: Verify the customer’s identity by checking their driver's license OR confirming proof of residence with a piece of mail (e.g.., a bill) found inside the house.
What to do if you are locked out?
Call a locksmith, we can get you in your house or vehicle. A locksmith will need something saying you are supposed to have access.
What to do if your child or pet is locked in the car?
Call a locksmith, depending on the situation and weather some locksmiths will unlock the vehicle for free if it is dangerous for the child or pet to be in the car. Yes we will unlock a vehicle for free if it is extreme weather outside.
What do I need to use to clean / lubricate a lock?
Most people will want to use WD-40 because they have it on hand. Yes this will work as a quick and short solution. We use and recommend Houdini as a lubricant it will wash out dirt and lubericate the lock at the same time. You can also use teflon and silicon based lubricants, just make sure it is not a powder based. A powder lube will not wash out the west Texas dirt that we get.
How much does it cost to rekey a house?
It depends on how many locks there are and how many spots a key will go into. Some deadbolts have key access on both the inside and outside. These locks have 2 places for the key to go and take a little longer to get rekeyed.
